The Sprout’s functional design is built on thoughtful dual-material engineering. While the visible shell is crafted from our standard PLA, the lower water reservoir utilizes a custom-designed PETG insert to guarantee complete water-tightness and product longevity. This robust insert ensures the reservoir remains secure, while the included cotton wick delivers constant moisture to your plant. The PETG component is clearly marked with the RIC 1 (PETG) recycling code for simple municipal sorting. We encourage you to check with your local recycling facility to confirm they accept PETG materials when the time comes.

Material Care & Longevity

We choose to craft with plant-based PLA plastic not only for its lightweight durability but because it is a biodegradable material, helping reduce the carbon footprint of your home décor. To ensure the longevity and beautiful finish of this material, please note that it is sensitive to high heat. While safe on most standard indoor windowsills, avoid placing the planter in locations with extreme, concentrated heat, such as the interior of a closed vehicle on a hot day, directly next to high-heat appliances, or in areas receiving prolonged, magnified, intense summer sun that could cause the material to soften and warp. This simple care ensures your planter remains perfect for years to come.
