Are your planters water tight?

Category: Materials & Sustainability

Our planters are semi-water-tight, similar to terracotta or unglazed ceramic pots. Unless a design specifically states otherwise, they aren’t made to hold water long-term. The porous nature of the material means they can hold runoff from a nursery pot or be used for bottom watering, but it’s best to empty any standing water afterward—given enough time, moisture can seep through. This also helps keep your plants healthy, since sitting in excess water can lead to root rot, mold, or fungus gnats!
